About the Institute
Institute of Economics and Finance of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences was appointed on October 1, 2019. The Institute was established as a result of the organizational reform of the University. As part of it, institutes were selected from the existing basic organizational units of the University – faculties, which focused their scientific and research activities. The faculties remained in the university structure as units dealing with education.
The Institute of Economics and Finance was separated from the Faculty of Economic Sciences (formerly the Faculty of Economics and Agriculture, Faculty of Engineering and Economics of Agriculture), which was established in 1956. Thus, the Institute is the direct successor and trustee of the scientific heritage as well as the continuator of the research activities of the Faculty.
The basic role of the Institute of Economics and Finance is to conduct research in the field of broadly understood economics from various perspectives of socio-economic development, taking into account the key processes of sustainable development.
The Institute of Economics and Finance of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences operates within the scientific discipline of Economics and Finance. It is a dynamically developing research center conducting research in the field of economics, finance, logistics as well as tourism and recreation.
