Global problems of agriculture and food economy

The Department of International Economics and Agribusiness of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences would like to cordially invite you to participate in the 17th International Scientific Conference entitled Global Problems of Agriculture and Food Economy organized on June 18, 2020. The aim of the conference is to integrate the community of economists involved in research in the field of international aspects of agri-food economy and to create a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences gained in the course of scientific research.

Due to the current epidemiological situation in the country and actions taken to prevent, counteract and combat covid-19, we expect that this year’s conference will be held only in the form of a teleconference. Parallel physical participation in the conference will be possible if the conditions allow (more information will be known after May 24, 2020).

The topics of the conference include the following global and international aspects of the agri-food economy:

  • perspectives and determinants of the development of agri-food economy and rural areas
  • economic policy and its impact on the development of the economy
  • globalization and integration processes
  • international trade and flows of factors of production
  • competitiveness and innovation in the agri-food economy
  • prices in agribusiness and their determinants
  • food marketing chain
  • consumption and food security
  • methodical aspects of assessing the development of agri-food economy
  • economic aspects of information in agriculture and food economy
  • the importance of human capital in the development of the sector and rural areas
  • natural resource management and environmental impact assessment

Publications:

  • Monograph of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences Publishing House (according to the list of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education – 100 points, assigning points to Authors in accordance with the rules contained in the RMNiSW of February 22, 2019 on the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity, Journal of Laws 2019, item 392).
    We plan to publish a post-conference monograph with a general title referring to the subject of the conference. Chapter in such a monograph in Polish should contain 25-35 thousand. characters with spaces (10-14 typescript pages, TNR 12, line spacing 1.5).
  • Scientific Journals of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences – SGGW Problems of World Agriculture.

  • Full texts of studies should be sent in electronic form to the e-mail address: msg@sggw.pl

Conference calendar:

  • Submitting a declaration – until May 30, 2020
  • Conference payment – until June 10, 2020
  • Sending full texts of papers:
    • When choosing a publication in a scientific monograph – until 30/06/2020 (after accepting the subject)
    • When choosing a publication in the Scientific Journals of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, the Problems of World Agriculture:
      • Issue 2/2020 until May 30, 2020
      • Issue 3/2020 until 07/15/2020
      • Issue 4/2020 until October 15, 2020
      • Issue 1/2021 until 01/15/2021.

Application for participation in the conference:

Application for participation in the conference is possible by filling in on-line registration form (until May 30, 2020)

Rules for resigning from participation in the conference:

Any decisions on resignation should be submitted in writing to the address of the conference secretariat, by 05/06/2020 at the latest. After this date, the fees paid will not be refunded.

Conference participation costs (currently only variants 3 and 4 are possible) :

Option 1 – physical participation in the conference with publication in a monograph, cost: PLN 800.

Variant 2 – physical participation in the conference without publication or with publication in the Scientific Journals of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences – Problems of World Agriculture (with the possibility of presenting a paper), cost: PLN 100.

Variant 3 – online participation in the conference with publication in a monograph, cost: PLN 700.

Variant 4 – online participation in the conference without publication or with publication in the Scientific Papers of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences – Problems of World Agriculture (with the possibility of presenting a paper), cost: free.
